WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY

CHURCH GOES BEYOND SUNDAY MORNINGS!

Here at Pinellas Community Church, we recognize the opportunity to serve our community. To optimize this opportunity, we are partnered with both local and global organizations that increase the impact to our community.

By working alongside other organizations, we can better serve the needs of our city and world.

OUR LOCAL PARTNERS

Our local partners and ministries are organizations who strategically demonstrate compassion where there is greatest need and disparity and in proximity to our Pinellas Community Church campus in South St. Pete.

Feed St. Pete

Feed St Pete is the second-largest food pantry in southern Pinellas County. The pantry started in a storage closet at Pinellas Community Church when members of the congregation saw the need to love their neighbors. Ten years later, Feed St. Pete operates out of a 3,000 sq. ft warehouse and intakes over 20,000 lbs of donated food a week. On average, the pantry serves food to 1,500 – 2,000 individuals in the local community every month. Feed St. Pete exists to be more than a pantry. It’s a community of people who feed the body while nourishing the soul. Volunteer Positions include: warehouse box preparation, van drivers, prayer team, and food distribution.

Reach St. Pete

A crisis can happen at any time, to anyone. In 2022, Reach St.Pete served over 6,000 individuals with financial assistance including, housing assistance, clothing, hygiene items, food, and additional life-enrichment services. Reach St. Pete is on mission to prevent and alleviate homelessness, low-income, and at-risk situations here in Pinellas County. Volunteer positions include The Literacy Program, The Community Closet, Sunday Serves, The Pop-Up Pantry.

Next Steps Pregnancy Center

When faced with an unplanned pregnancy, fear and many other contributing factors lead women to abortion clinics. Next Stepps Pregnancy Center offers life-affirming services to families who are unable to receive support or assistance when faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Next Stepps fights to keep their doors open to ensure that the God-given value and worth of all human life are both affirmed and fully supported in the community we have been called to serve. Next Stepps has facilitated over 1,270 life-affirming services to families in need. Volunteer Options include board membership, receptionist, other office duties, event coordinating, baby boutique, and family counseling (training provided).

OUR GLOBAL PARTNERS

The needs people encounter on a global mission trip are often far more drastic and desperate than the ones we see in our own neighborhoods and nation. For this reason, global mission expands not only the reach of our faith community but supports our partners to reach their own communities in some of the most drastic and desperate areas of needs.

Casas Por Cristo

Many people across the world are desperate and will do anything for shelter, and oftentimes have to. When Roberto’s materials arrived for his new house to be built, he slept outside on top of his materials for two weeks until a team arrived to build his home. Casas Por Cristo partners with local pastors who choose a family in need of a home and then partners that local pastor, the family in need, and your team together to build a home. Often times these brand-new homes are used as an evangelism tool for the family and their surrounding neighbors to hear the gospel of Jesus. Here is an opportunity to build community within your own PCC community and go on mission together to see how God can and will use you during this trip. You can join the 2023 Guatemala team or the 2024 Dominican Republic Team.

Spring Valley School – Orphanage

Spring Valley School and Orphange was recognized as one of the higher-ranking schools in Nairobi, Kenya. Spring Valley intentionally chooses to serve the poorest and most vulnerable children in their city and community. These children were either at risk of, or were, trafficked, abused, neglected, HIV positive, recruited as a child-soldier, and/or abandoned. The children living at Spring Valley depend on their everyday basic needs to be met by their local church and school. Many children are orphans who live on campus, while other students go home often where there is no food. Spring Valley feeds, clothes, educates, and disciples these nearly 400 children every day. Spring Valley is known as their community’s pillar of hope and stability. You can partner with the current Spring Valley team scheduled to leave the summer of 2023. You can join the Spring Valley 2024 team now to learn how to prepare for the next mission trip.
